Answering Your Questions
General Questions
How do compression socks work?
Compression socks are not merely a passing trend or an ordinary medical device. These scientifically designed socks provide graduated compression to the legs, offering relief to long-distance travelers, alleviation of leg discomfort for pregnant women, structure to athletes working out and support to workers on their feet for hours a day.

What level of compression is best for me?
Compression socks are available in a variety of compression levels, ranging from mild to extra firm. The required level of compression depends on individual needs and preferences. Consulting a healthcare provider (e.g. physician or nurse practitioner) is highly recommended to determine which level of compression is best for you. Generally, a compression level of 20-30 mmHg is suitable for most people wanting to get better support for their legs.

How do I care for my compression socks?
To preserve the longevity of your compression sock, we recommend hand or machine washing in a laundry bag in cold water and hang to dry.
Where are your socks made?
Pegasole socks are proudly made in Taiwan using advanced technology and responsible manufacturing practices. After carefully vetting multiple factories, we chose partners that best aligned with our high standards for both environmental responsibility and product quality. Our suppliers prioritize resource conservation through efforts which include but are not limited to recycled yarn and water systems, energy-efficient production, and the use of solar power.
Do your products contain latex?
None of our products contain latex.
Why are there differences between socks?
Differences between socks are common and arise from various factors. Socks of the same size may appear to differ in length when placed side by side, influenced by variations in yarn patterns, types, colors, or yarn direction. The crucial point is that when worn, the socks will conform to their intended fit.
Another variation is that some socks may feel tighter/looser than others, which can also be attributed to these yarn differences. Rest assured, each sock undergoes testing and certification to ensure it falls within specified compression ranges.
In both cases, after several washes and wears, our socks typically settle into their final shape, fit, and feel.
Does extended health insurance reimburse Pegasole compression socks?
In many cases, yes. Our socks meet standard invoicing and product criteria required by most insurance providers. However, coverage can vary depending on your specific plan, so we recommend checking directly with your insurer to confirm eligibility and reimbursement details.
In your order confirmation email, there is a link to a PDF receipt that can be used to submit to your insurance provider.
Do I need a prescription?
You do not require a prescription to purchase compression garments but many extended health insurance companies will require a prescription from a healthcare provider and should include: type of compression garmet, compression range (e.g. 20-30 mmHg) and sometimes a clinical diagnosis.
Do you direct bill?
Most insurance providers require the plan member to submit their claim for compression garments.
We provide insurance-friendly receipts: every order comes with a detailed receipt including: your name, the company details, date of purchase, description of product with the brand name and the amount charged and confirmation the item(s) have been paid in full.
We can directly bill certain extended health providers like Manitoba Blue Cross (not Pacific or Alberta Blue Cross) and Green Shield. Please reach out to us at hello@pegasole.com if you would like to be set up for direct billing.
How do I put on my compression socks?
-
Turn the sock inside out (to the heel)
Reach inside the sock and pull it inside out until the heel pocket is showing. This makes it much easier to position correctly
-
Put your foot in first
Slide your foot into the sock and make sure your heel fits well into the heel pocket.
-
Pull the sock up slowly
Once your heel is in place, gently pull the rest of the sock up your ankle and calf. Do not yank it quickly — pull it up little by little.
-
Smooth it out
Use your hands to smooth the sock so there are no wrinkles or folds. This keeps it comfortable and helps the compression work properly.
